Supporting our community one can at a time
Community — that’s what it’s all about.
When we think of community, we think of neighbors caring for neighbors. That was the spirit behind a recent donation drive by our team at Magic Lube & Rubber, in support of Our Lady Star of the Sea Food Pantry in Lake Hopatcong.
Over the course of a few days, our crew — led by Brian (General Manager), Will (Shop Manager), and Brendan (Production Manager) — organized a shopping trip to gather pantry staples and gift cards, then delivered them to Our Lady Star of the Sea Food Pantry. They then helped restock shelves with the pantry staff. The donations included jars of pasta sauce, soups, stuffing, macaroni & cheese, and a number of gift cards aimed at giving the pantry flexibility to fill in critical needs.

When they arrived, Father Sean and Sue (the pantry coordinator) greeted them with gratitude. Together with pantry volunteers, they unpacked, shelved, and organized the items. The team even had a chance to pose for photos with Father Sean — a light moment that captured the joy and connection of the day. The pantry staff and volunteers were visibly appreciative; the shelves looked fuller, and the energy was uplifting.
These kinds of efforts are small on paper—but meaningful in impact. Every can of soup, every box of pasta, and every dollar toward a gift card helps make a difference in someone’s week. More than that, our team’s hands-on involvement strengthens community bonds, reminds us all of our shared responsibility, and gives volunteers a boost of encouragement.
If you’re reading this and wondering how you can help, here are a few ideas:
- Donate non-perishable food items or gift cards
- Volunteer time (shopping, restocking, distribution)
- Organize a collection drive (at work, school, or with friends)
- Spread the word — share the pantry’s needs with your network
Every little bit helps!
